AC Spindle Motor Inverters

Using a spindle motor inverter to control a three phase spindle motor is the way to go! You'll get true programmable spindle speed and on-the-fly spindle speed override. On a lathe, the inverter combined with a spindle encoder allows you to utilize constant surface speed machining for superior finishes and tool life.

We have used a whole bunch of different types of inverters over the years, and it is hard to beat the Hitachi SJ100 series. They are available in a wide range of sizes, from 1/4 HP to 10 HP.

The SJ100 can also run on single phase 220, which eliminates the need for a problematic phase converter!
